华夏文化学校成立于2002年4月，是一所在新州教育部正式注册的、非营利的周末及课后制中文学校。学校的办学宗旨是：以爱育爱，培育跨文化沟通能力。
学校以教授普通话、简体字和汉语拼音为主体；以传授中华文化、包括民俗文化为主要内容；以互动式教学来调动学生学习中文的兴趣为主要的教学方式。成立20多年来，我们发展出了一套以学生为中心的、循序渐进、寓教于乐、灵活多样的教学方法，形成了从学前班到成人班以及网上教学的多层次的教学体系。本校的特点是更注重文化的传授，学校每学期都有中国文化体验课和主题讨论课，帮助和促进学生综合运用所学、所闻、所见和所想提升对语言的理解和记忆，并建立文化情结。本校的教学改革方向是：构建文化引导语言教学的新型教学模式和课堂形态。学校注重以中国优秀的传统文化育人。
学校现已发展了超过12所公立学校作为教学点及较成熟的网上课堂，并拥有一支具有工匠精神和学者态度的优秀教师队伍。学校是新南威尔士州社区语言学校联合会及澳大利亚华夏文化教育促进会的成员，并参与了新南威尔士州教育部门、HSK考试中心举办的各种教学、培训和研讨活动。学校每年都组织学生去中国参加冬、夏令营活动，及参加各种当地及国际上有关中文和中国文化的竞赛活动。一年一度的《华夏杯华语大赛》是我们的品牌活动。
我们拥有经验丰富并具有本地语言教师证书的、有爱心的教师队伍，我们有对应各种不同需要和水平学生的、灵活多样的教学方案。我们欢迎所有对中文和中国文化感兴趣的儿童、少年和成人的加入。
